What is carries or carrys?

Carries or carries refer to a concept in multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games, such as Dota 2 and League of Legends. In these games, a carry is a hero or champion who has the potential to deal high damage to the enemy team in the late game stage. A carry hero is usually very weak in the early game, so the team has to protect them and ensure they have enough farm (gold and experience) to become stronger.

Carries usually rely on items to increase their damage and survivability. Some popular carry heroes in Dota 2 include Anti-Mage, Spectre, and Phantom Assassin, while League of Legends has champions like Vayne, Jinx, and Kog'Maw. Carries are typically played in the safe lane or bottom lane, where there are few enemy heroes to contest their farm.

The success of a carry hero depends on the team's ability to create space for them to farm, protect them from ganks and enemy harass, and coordinate during team fights. A well-farmed carry hero can quickly turn the game around and carry their team to victory.
